Waypoint

Bringing a moment to breathe in chaos.
Waypoint is a three-part re-imagination of the airport experience. It empowers individuals by guiding them to their points of interest, removing mental & physical stressors and simplifying the travel experience.

UX Research & Product Design Role
As the UX researcher on this project, I made sure that every design intention was research backed and fact informed. With the additional challenge of designing for a neurodivergent audience, the added factor of making sure every design was catered towards enhancing their experience was thought through the colors, layouts and more.
As the Product Designer, I developed the physical pod in our solution and rendered high quality renders to showcase where the product will be used and how to allow the audience to understand the true intention of our product and its usage.
Who was Waypoint Built For?
Starting of with a “how might we create an unburdened airport experience that is more efficient, accessible and enjoyable for travelers” we wanted to create an experience for neurodivergent audiences and all that would be a stress-free airport experience.

Easily track plane updates and find assistance on the go for any needs.
Find places you want to go to and add it to your pre-planned route.
Stressed? Take a moment to breathe with us.
RESEARCH
Starting from the runaway & up.
We conducted in field research at the airport to gauge how flyers felt after their experience at the Savannah Airport and even sent out surveys to understand pain points.

Airport Service Gaps
Our research revealed that many parents of children on the ASD spectrum find the airport experience daunting.
Navigational Struggles
Research findings highlight widespread frustration among travelers due to unclear and inconsistent signage in airports.
Sensory Stress
Our data suggests that majority of travelers face sensory overload and anxiety in crowded airport walkways.

“ Traveling with kids under two is incredibly difficult for me, and airport layouts don't make it any easier. I either have to get to the airport five hours ahead of time, or I end up missing the flight. It's a challenge I battle every single time. ”

Cultural Probe Insights
Wireframing &
Iterations
During our designing phase, there were a lot of changes that arose from finding information quickly and complex UX content. Taking those changes in mind, we iterated and came up with our final designs.
